The Brainerd Nature Club is a group that Brainerd Parks and Recreation created to help guide and teach community members about all the opportunities they have in our Parks.

  • Where’s Waldo BIRD Edition

    • June 1 - June 15
      • If you are not familiar with the "Where’s Waldo" book series a quick summary is finding someone in a very crowded scenery. During these two weeks we are asking community members to head to our parks and try to spot as many different bird species as they can! We ask that you send us photos either through our Facebook page or you can send us photos via email. 
      • We want to know what species you found and where you found it.

Pine Cone Art

  • Pine Cone Art

    • June 15 - June 29
    • We are allowing community members to collect pine cones in any of our parks to create their own "Pine Cone Art". 
    • We ask people to share their creations! There may even be an award for the most unique!

  • Brainerd Trails & Parks Clean Up Day

    • Wednesday, July 15, 2020
      • 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. 
      • Volunteerism: Anyone or any group of people can participate within the time frame for however long they want to organize. 
      • We ask that people pledge or register so we have an idea of how many people helped us! → Click
      • Make sure you wear proper PPE such as gloves or use trash grabbing tools. If you do fill up trash bags feel free to use our trash receptacles in parks or on trails. If they are full kindly set trash bags next to the receptacle or bring to the Lum Park office dumpster at 1619 NE Washington St. Brainerd, MN 56401
